About Workshop
This five-day National Workshop offers an intensive and hands-on exploration of Generative Artificial Intelligence with a strong focus on ethics and responsibility. Beginning with the foundations of Deep Learning for NLP and Transformer architectures, the programme progresses through current trends in Generative AI, Responsible Large Language Models, fine-tuning and Retrieval-Augmented Generation. Participants will gain practical skills in prompt engineering, edge AI, and AI tools, while exploring real-world applications such as AI-driven voice agents with full process automation. The workshop also addresses advanced themes including AI-assisted software engineering and explainability in computer vision, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and trust in AI systems. Designed for students, researchers, and professionals, the workshop aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to build ethical, explainable, and socially responsible AI solutions and we envision to create an opportunity for them to interact with eminent resource persons from academia as well as industry.
Scope and Relevance of the topic
As Generative AI becomes increasingly embedded in decision-making, content creation, and automation, ethical considerations are critical to prevent misuse, bias, and societal harm. This workshop equips learners to address risks, ensure trust, and harness AI’s potential for positive societal impact. This program covers the fundamentals of Generative AI, ethical AI design principles, responsible data usage, bias mitigation, transparency, and societal impact assessment. It integrates practical sessions with case studies on deploying AI systems that prioritize fairness, accountability, and sustainability across diverse domains such as education, healthcare, governance, and creative industries. Through the proposed national workshop, we try to bridge the gap between rapid advancements in Generative AI and the essential ethical frameworks needed to guide its responsible use, empowering participants to design innovative solutions that align with societal values and long-term sustainability. We believe that this seminar will be of great help to keen researchers in the field of data science.
