Jeevani

Jeevani is a project by the Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Kerala, in collaboration with National Institute of Mental Health &amp, Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru which focuses on the mental and well-being of the students in the government colleges in Kerala. JEEVANI- A preventive and promotional model of Mental Health and well being started in our college .The project aims to promote mental health for college students and to improve awareness among them. This programme helps to identify psychological issues among college students. The main objectives under the project in our campus was:
● To introduce services of Jeevani wellbeing centre to students
● To make students and staff aware of mental health
● To assess the mental health of students and staff
● To execute intervention plans for healthy functioning
● To provide counselling for students having psychological issues.
● Conducting awareness about mental health issues
● Early detection of psychological issues among students
● To provide educational support
● To enhance social skills and life skills among students
● Jeevani worked as a collaborator with college NSS, NCC, WWS(Walk with scholar) ,SSP (Scholar Support Programme).Women cell….

STRATEGIES USED FOR ENHANCEMENT:-

OUTCOMES OF JEEVANI PROJECT

  • Student and staffs become aware of importance of mental health
  • Students wellbeing and functioning can be improved
  • Stigma towards addressing mental health issues can be decreased
  • Early detection of mental health issues
  • To provide intervention for enhancement of students
  • Students learn to cope effectively in various situations
